Policy

Accidents are preventable. The company will therefore provide the most appropriate resources, training, machinery, ancillary equipment, personal protection, procedures and work practices in order to achieve this aim. We will strive for an on-going improvement of our Health and Safety policies, procedures and work practices. We will work safely to ensure that our employees’ health and safety is not endangered.

Safety in the workplace is the prime responsibility of each and every employee of Marlboro Crane Hire. We are all accountable for demonstrating safety leadership, providing a safe work environment and promoting safe working practices amongst one another.

Practices

The employees of Marlboro Crane Hire undergo what we call “tool box talks” on a regular basis. These talks offer the employees a chance to ask questions about health and safety on site and to learn ways in which to continually be in-charge of their safety.

Management will meet regularly to consult and review Health and Safety matters. They will define responsibilities and relationships that promote a positive Health and Safety culture throughout the company. They will ensure that the Safety Management systems are implemented effectively.

All employees are encouraged to recommend improvements to the current Health and Safety standards and work practices, as well as identify and eliminate all hazards that have the potential to cause injury.

Marlboro Crane Hire undertakes, wherever possible, to promote and maintain the highest degree of physical, mental and social well-being amongst its workforce and to prevent any harm or loss to the organisation, the community and surrounding environment.

Objectives

To promote the health and well-being of all our employees through “tool box talks”, inductions, and yearly medical examinations.

To offer personal and environments protection against work induced or work aggravated hazards – we supply our guys with top quality protective gear and send them continuously on safety training courses

To educate and train our employees in Health and Safety awareness.

To provide for the identification, assessment and monitoring of all potential hazards related to the work procedure, which may affect the employees, the environment and community.

To provide control measures aimed at reducing exposure to industrial hazards according to national and, where necessary, international standards by conducting our business in a proffessional, open and honest manner.

To adhere, at all times, to occupational health and safety legislation and guidelines currently in force in South Africa.

To obtain and maintain OHSAS 18001 4 star certification. To develop and maintain an ISO 14001 environment.

At all times Marlboro Crane Hire will endevour to afford the Occupational Health and Safety Policy as an integral part of personal and industrial relations and the priority necessary for its implementation
